Vita Arcana volume 1

Vita Arcana chapter 1, a new historical manga translated by OtherSideOfSky, and with a joint with Offtopia! This manga takes place during the Pax Romana, after the death of Emperor Caracalla. It's quite an awesome story, with some fantastic art.

"It's 217 AD, several decades after the end of the "Pax Romana," and the Roman Empire is still the most powerful empire in the world. However, between corruption in the government, increasing attacks from savage hordes, and continuing resource-draining foreign campaigns, the power of Rome is on the decline. With the recent assassination of the emperor Caracalla, many things are about to change..."

We're just waiting for Offtopia to finish Blade of the Immortal volume 29, so enjoy this while you wait!

And remember, still on the lookout for editors, typesetters and translators!

    1. The character on the cover?

    2. If the first anon is talking about the character on the cover then he is an idiot, because that is clearly a woman. C'mon, boobs, long hair, delicate features, thin arms, shapely hips, small waist……Just what the hell is gender-bender-ish about that?

    4. stargood, I guess you don't read much manga or watch much anime. And gender bender is a broad term. So I'm assuming the trap is the character on the cover?

    5. Well anon, you guess wrong, and I disagree about gender bender being a broad term. If that is really a man, it's a really good disguise.

    6. Anon, it's little more complicated than that but yes, that's the character.

    7. I'm assuming that's Hermaphroditus, which is listed on mangaupdates. So it makes total sense. stargood, on mangaupdates gender bender can cover traps, story-related crossdressing, gender swaps, body swaps. That's pretty broad because dressing like a woman isn't the same as becoming a woman, but it covers both those. Thanks, other anonymous.

  3. I see a big N/A where the book image should be, with a message: "There was an error displaying this image" Is this just me or everyone now?

    1. I think that's because Mangaupdates prevents their hotlinking images.

  4. Do they still plan to continuing this series? It is quite interesting.
